Mouth Ulcers


Mouth ulcers also known as canker sores are small lesions that occur on the soft tissues in your mouth or at the base of your gums. These are non-contagious but they can be painful and go away in around a week or two. It is advised to go check with your dentist if they persist.


  • Injury from dental work.
  • Vigorous brushing.
  • Using toothpaste containing sodium lauryl sulfate.
  • Food sensitivities.
  • Diet lacking in vitamin B-12.
  • An allergic response to certain bacteria in your mouth.
  • Hormonal shifts during menstruation.
  • Emotional stress.
